Coros Pace 2 Multisport Running Watch Released

The Coros Pace 3 GPS running watch is a device that I first reviewed earlier this year. If you’re interested, you can find the full review here:

In that review, I thought the device was a great watch with an incredibly lightweight design. While I did notice a few minor issues with the GPS chipset (GPS Running Sensor Accuracy — Stryd Footpod and Stryd Duo), I found it a handy device that I could easily recommend to anyone needing an ultra-light GPS running watch. However, its biggest downside was (and still is) the price — it’s not cheap.

While it’s undeniably an incredibly well-built watch (it reminds me of a high-end Garmin Fenix or Suunto device) with good app connectivity and a good GPS chipset, the price of around $250 USD puts it in the same playing field as the Garmin Forerunner 255 — a GPS running watch with a fantastic reputation and many loyal customers. Unfortunately, it’s a very tough price to compete at, even if the Coros device is better in some ways.

Fast-forward to now, and Coros has released a new watch. The aptly named Coros Pace 4 is a watch that appears to be completely identical to the original Pace 3, but this one is made out of a titanium alloy case instead of aluminium. While I’m not the biggest fan of incremental upgrades, this change in materials has led to an even lighter design, and this watch is selling for around $299 — still pricey, but a much more tempting offer.

If you were interested in the original Coros Pace 3 but couldn’t justify the price, the Coros Pace 4 might be worth looking into. I have one on the way, and I will be releasing a full review as soon as I can!
